Awesome test today with Nancy! I was excited about this one coming in because the OH squats at 115# on Saturday felt pretty solid. I was convinced I could fly at 95#.

5 rounds for time:

  • 400m Run
  • 15 OH Squats (95#)

I finished the first run in roughly 1:45 keeping a conservative pace. OH squats were unbroken through all sets. Headed out for my last run around 10:00. Finished at 12:59 for a 24 second PR! Very happy to get under 13:00.

Came in for open gym today after Thanksgiving. I wanted to do Nancy and see if I could get a PR. My last attempt on 5/9/17 was my first time going unbroken, but I knew I could push the run a little faster.

I finished the third run at roughly 7 minutes. Other than that, I didn’t look at the clock the entire time. I did feel like I was able to go much faster on the squats. Last time, I remember feeling like my quads were absolutely crushed. Really happy with my time, but this means that next time will be even harder to beat!

Compare to 7/12/16. The last time we did Nancy, I didn’t get one set of OH squats unbroken. This time, I got through 3/5 unbroken. On the 4th set, I lost my balance after 12. On the last set, my shoulders were just fried, and I went 13/2 like a little baby. Should’ve just pushed through. Either way, that’s a 3 minute PR! This might be my new favorite girl WOD.

OH Squats are a huge weakness of mine so I wasn’t really surprised that I finished so poorly here. I broke the first set up into 13-5. Second and Third sets were 10-5. Fourth set I went to shit and did 6-5-4 or some garbage. Last set was 12-3. I really got demoralized during that third set and almost considered dropping out. Need to keep my head up and train more at this movement so 15 reps at 95# is a piece of cake. You got me this go around Nancy.
